Jackie Fix

Jackie Fix

Jacqueline Fix was a registered organ donor and was able to save and improve the lives of others through Gift of Life in Pennsylvania. Jackie felt very strongly about organ donation and would appreciate your interest in registering as a donor through her memorial page. Thank you.

Jacqueline was born on February 2, 1948 and passed away suddenly on October 20, 2013. The La Mesa resident was vacationing with her family at the time in Allentown, PA, her birthplace. She was the daughter of August and Catherine Fix.

In her early years Jackie had a varied work career. She was a social worker, a teacher, a sales person and an airline representative.  During the past 30 years, she worked at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego, first in Personnel, and then as an Administrative Assistant in the Finance Dept. She retired from that position in March 2013.

Jackie has been an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church, St. Gregory the Great and most recently Mary Magdalene.  She had so many friends and interests. She played the clarinet in the San Diego Community Band and in the Faith Chapel Community orchestra. She loved tennis, photography, traveling, bunko, and woodworking.

Excerpts from friends online:

The Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice at the University of San Diego is grateful and honored to have received gifts in Jackie’s name from her family and friends. We will put the funds to good use in our peace-building work with Catholic social teaching about peace with justice at its core. Please accept our deepest condolences.

I worked with Jackie at Kaiser for many years, and she was a wonderful and positive person. She is loved and missed by many.

What a privilege to have known Jackie! A precious delight she was to all of us each Thursday as she came to orchestra practice. Her presence added to the enjoyment of our times together. There’s going to be a hole in our clarinet section, but our hearts will forever be filled with happy memories of precious Jackie.

Jackie, we will miss your smiling face.  You blessed us with your love of life. You will be missed. Rest in peace.

You will forever hold a special place in my heart.  I have never forgotten her kindness and wonderful sense of humor. She is part of some very special memories.

Jackie was always so thoughtful & kind. Thank you Jackie for making the world a better place. You will be missed.
