Alex’s life ended way to early on June 21, 2013, at the young age of 21. Through Alex’s direct family donation, a family member was able to receive one of his kidneys and is now living a healthy, dialysis free, life. We know there are others who are alive today because of the gift of his heart, liver and his other kidney. What a blessing to know that our son lives on through others today and the he was able to give the ultimate gift of life. His gift of organs was not only a gift of life to others but a true part of our family’s healing process.
I remember at Thanksgiving and Christmas having moments where my heart just ached for Alex to be with us. And it seemed that in those moments I was always reminded that our loss meant 4 other families were enjoying their family members with them. Alex we love you and miss you so much but take comfort in knowing others live because of you.
